Steps for Change
Women and children in rural Nepal and Vietnam are at high risk of preventable death and disease, particularly during childbirth and in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. Poverty, long distances to health facilities, and a lack of health services prevent women and children from receiving the care and nutrition they need to not only survive—but to thrive.
Steps for Change mobilizes HealthBridge supporters across Canada and around the world to walk, run or roll in solidarity with vulnerable women in Nepal and Vietnam who face daily challenges for them and their children to have a healthy life from the start.
When you register for Steps for Change, you challenge yourself to take 10,000 steps a day for one month—from September 14 to October 12. As you step, HealthBridge takes you on a virtual journey with women in Nepal and Vietnam, where you catch a glimpse into the obstacles they face to access basic health services and nutrition. Along the way, you can collect pledges to support HealthBridge’s maternal, newborn and child health work in these two countries.
Check back in September 2017 for registration information!
