
Abiola Okpechi is a human rights professional whose work focuses on the intersection between corporate activity and human rights. She supports companies to manage the social and environmental impacts of their activities on people and communities, particularly vulnerable populations.
Working in collaboration with stakeholders in academia, government, civil society, international development and the private sector, Abiola has had the opportunity to make input into the legal, policy and regulatory frameworks governing resource extraction in various countries. She works as a Subject Matter Expert on Business and Human Rights at Assent Compliance Inc. where she helps companies integrate human rights considerations into their corporate risk management frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Law (Human Rights) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
