The Tim Stone Memorial Fund supports young people to explore a career in international development. The annual award of $3,500 gives an intern the opportunity to work alongside HealthBridge to strengthen health and health equity.

The Tim Stone Memorial Fund honours the memory of HealthBridge’s founding Executive Director, Tim Stone.

Tim Stone was Executive Director from 1993 to 1996. He was killed in 1996 when the hijacked plane he was a passenger in crashed. His death sparked the idea for the [Monument to Canadian Aid Workers](/lost-canadian-aid-workers) in Ottawa, Canada.

In 2013 some of the money raised to create the Monument was used to establish the Tim Stone Memorial Award.[](/lost-canadian-aid-workers)
