Internships & student placements
HealthBridge regularly hosts student placements from universities as well as individuals looking for meaningful work experience. We will work with you to define a program that will be an enriching learning experience, enabling you to refine, extend, apply, and practise sector-specific knowledge and skills for you and contribute to our mission. Interns and young professionals have completed placements with our local partners in Vietnam and Bangladesh, and others have worked out of our Ottawa office or from home. To date, HealthBridge has hosted students from:
- Carleton University
- Harvard University
- McGill University
- Queen's University
- Ryerson Univeristy
- University of Alberta
- University of Ottawa
- Waterloo University
- Western University
If you are interested in exploring an internship or student placement, please send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a letter detailing what kind of placement you are seeking (nature of the work; in Canada or abroad), whether or not you require funding, and what you hope to learn.
We are always interested in hosting volunteers to do meaningful work that matches your skill set. Volunteering with HealthBridge offers the opportunity to engage with local and global communities, while fulfilling our mission of improving health and health equity, through tailored assignments. Volunteer opportunities vary and are based on the ongoing needs of the organization. If you are interested, please send your CV to email@example.com identifying your areas of interest and how you would like to contribute.
HealthBridge maintains a roster of consultants based in Ottawa and internationally for short and medium-term assignments; we keep names on the roster for a period of one year.
Any assignments will require expertise and experience in a range of technical disciplines related to our programs. The ability to speak multiple languages, and work experience in various countries, with various members of the health sector (NGOs, ministries of health, UN, etc) is valued. The assignments usually require travel.
Please send all enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank you in advance for your interest in HealthBridge.
