In the remote, mountainous districts of Kalikot, Nepal, accessing healthcare is a significant challenge for many women and mothers.

The Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Dhaka project is improving access to family planning in underserved areas through community-based approaches and health system strengthening.

Remote Son La province grapples with pressing challenges surrounding adolescent health, including early marriage and high rates of adolescent pregnancy.

Child marriage is still commonly practiced in Kalikot, where nearly 40% of girls aged 15-19 are already married. HealthBridge is working in this region with our partner International Nepal Fellowship (INF) to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes in the community.

The SRHR in Dhaka project is being implemented in underserved urban areas of Dhaka where the community faces high rates of poverty, early marriage, and challenges accessing SRH services. Socio-cultural barriers contribute to difficulties for women and girls to advocate for themselves, particularly regarding sexual and reproductive health.

HealthBridge Foundation and International Nepal Fellowship support the Mothers Groups in Khandachakra by providing training and educational materials for FCHVs to ensure they have the understanding and skills to improve health outcomes for women and children in the community.

The "Improving SRHR in Dhaka" project, with its youth-led initiatives, aims to empower more young people to dismantle barriers and make informed decisions about SRH.
