HealthBridge works with partners world-wide to improve health and health equity through research, policy and action.

Get involved

HealthBridge maintains a roster of consultants based in Ottawa and internationally for short and medium-term assignments; we keep names on the roster for a period of one year.

Any assignments will require expertise and experience in a range of technical disciplines related to our programs. The ability to speak multiple languages, and work experience in various countries, with various members of the health sector (NGOs, ministries of health, UN, etc) is valued. The assignments usually require travel.

Thank you for your interest in HealthBridge. We will only respond to CVs that meet our qualifications.

Co-op Placements

HealthBridge hosts co-op students from universities and high schools. To date, students have come from:

  • Carleton University
  • Glebe Collegiate Institute
  • Harvard University
  • McGill University
  • Ryerson Univeristy
  • University of Alberta
  • University of Ottawa
  • Waterloo University
  • Western University

We work with students to design a placement that will provide them a meaningful learning experience in a workplace setting, enabling students to refine, extend, apply, and practise sector-specific knowledge and skills. In general, our co-op placements have dual objectives: the students’ learning objectives, and a contribution to the objectives of the organization.

HealthBridge regularly hosts interns from universities as well as individuals looking for meaningful work experience. While we cannot always offer a stipend to interns, we will work with you to define a program that will be a learning experience for you and contribute to our mission. We have placed interns with local partners in Vietnam and Bangladesh, and have had others work out of our Ottawa office or from home. If you are interested in exploring an internship, please send us your CV along with a letter detailing what kind of placement you are seeking (nature of the work; in Canada or abroad), whether or not you have your own funding, and what you hope to learn.
