In 2015 two of the driving forces behind HealthBridge’s success are celebrating 20 years with us.
Debra Efroymson’s career with HB started in the role of consultant. As Regional Director based in Bangladesh, she now supports all of our programs, focusing specifically on Livable Cities.
Debra is a dynamo, directing her energy to bring about changes to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable people – from those facing reproductive health issues in Vietnam to the urban poor trying to survive in South Asia’s booming cities.

Sian FitzGerald joined HB as Nutrition Advisor in 1996 and in 1997 became Executive Director, a role she has occupied ever since.
Sian has refined an approach to strengthening global public health that stresses:
- Working strategically and unencumbered by bureaucracy;
- Addressing key gaps in health equity and programming around the globe, based solidly on research, development and action;
- Identifying and working with effective local partners who can deliver programs and affect local policy;
- Championing key policy inputs to influence elements of global health and development.
