It often feels like one does a lot of work without any noticeable results or even visible output…so it is gratifying when something actually gets done and perhaps even noticed. If I’ve been silent on this blog, it is partly because I’ve been caught up in a whirlwind of activity…and am happy to report that the work is showing results. In no particular order, some of the work to which I have contributed includes:
- an article published by Oxfam’s Gender & Development journal: “Campaigning to save market women's livelihoods in Hanoi: experience from HealthBridge” (http://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/GzDDGge7cDJ4spqFyDaE/full),
- a paper published by The Union on integration of tobacco control and NCDs (http://www.tobaccofreeunion.org/images/stories/research/NCDs%20and%20Tobacco%20Control,%20a%20Discussion%20Paper[1].pdf),
- a four minute video on the importance of household work, which has proved very popular in Bengali, at over 24,000 views (you can watch it in English on the HealthBridge home page),
- most importantly, the release of the book Beyond Apologies, Defining and Achieving an Economics of Wellbeing, published by the Institute of Wellbeing in Bangladesh (www.instituteofwellbeingbd.org).
Now if things slow down again, I hope to resume this blog!
