HealthBridge Special Advisor Shoba John was quoted in a recent article in The Canadian Press about smoking in movies.
Shoba, who is based in India, said that rules against smoking in Indian movies have been watered down, but still have some impact.
The article discussed a proposal by the Non-Smokers' Rights Association to toughen the rating of movies shown in Ontario that include tobacco use. Such films should be '18A', says the group, so that viewers under 18 would have to be accompanied by an adult.
