Three things crossed my desk yesterday that are worth sharing.
First, HealthBridge alumnus, Dr. Ismael Ngnie-Teta has been highlighted as a “Nutrition Rockstar”. The designation of “Rockstar” is a little silly, and Ismael is somewhat embarrassed by it, but still the recognition is deserved and well meaning.
Second, this 20 minute interview with Peter Gubbels, the West African representative of Groundswell International, describes the advantages of ecological agriculture and the importance of investing in small scale farmers.
Finally, there is a beautiful video on Ecuadorian “ice merchants”. I have never heard of ice merchants in Ecuador before, but it is beautifully done, and shows the striking landscapes of Ecuador. When my wife and I lived in Ecuador in 1994 for my PhD studies, we saw Chimborazo out our front door.
