Project
Description
This project aimed to further support the Vietnamese government’s efforts to effectively implement the national tobacco control law, by improving the implementation and enforcement of smoke-free (SF) regulations in the hospitality sector. More specifically, it aimed to strengthen the official commitment to and the management of SF restaurants in Hanoi, which would then provide a model for other cities in the country. It would do so by providing technical support and capacity building to relevant hospitality and enforcement agencies (including development of guidelines, training workshops and other information sharing actions), by designing and implementing a series of advocacy activities, via a media campaign to raise public awareness and support, and by monitoring enforcement.
