Description

The project “Strengthening of smoke-free policies and their enforcement for smoke-free Hanoi” was initiated and undertaken by HealthBridge and local partners from April 2008 to December 2010 with financial support from Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use through Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. The project aimed to increase implementation of smoke free policies in public places and workplaces and to strengthen the contents of the draft of Tobacco Control Law and other legislative documents.

Achieved Outcomes

  • Increased political commitment of local government to implement and enforce smoke free policies in public places and workplaces.
  • Improved local skills required to develop, plan, and implement measures to effectively enforce smoke free policies in local settings.
  • Increased civil society’s involvement in supporting and monitoring smoke- free policy implementation
  • Strengthened the contents of the draft of Tobacco Control Law referring to FCTC guideline and international best practice.
