Project
Description
This project supports Vietnam's transition toward healthier food policy, as the country revises its Law on Food Safety amid rising obesity and non-communicable disease (NCD) rates, which already account for over 77% of national deaths. Led by HealthBridge Vietnam in partnership with the Ministry of Health, National Institute of Nutrition, WHO Vietnam, and civil society allies, the initiative combines evidence generation, policy analysis, and strategic advocacy to advance front-of-package warning labeling (FOPWL) and restrictions on unhealthy food marketing to children. It also addresses school food environments by promoting evidence-based nutrition policies for children, while building on Vietnam's newly adopted sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) tax.
Project
Expected Results
- Supporting the adoption and implementation of FOPWL and restrictions on unhealthy food marketing
- Strengthening evidence and systems for effective sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) tax implementation.
- Strengthening evidence-based approaches to healthier school food environments.
