Increasing traffic in Hanoi is making the city less livable, according to a recent article co-authored by HealthBridge board member Mark Zuidgeest.

However, Mark and his fellow authors were surprised to find that heavier traffic on some streets did not make residents less sociable.

HealthBridge Executive Director Sian FitzGerald spoke at the launch of the Vietnam National NCD Alliance in Hanoi on Aug. 26.

Sian noted that in 2012 the number of deaths worldwide due to NCDs was 38 million, accounting for 68% of total deaths, and that 80% of these deaths occur in low and middle income countries.
